Baby Leo’s Birth Story | Los Angeles Birth Photographer

Red Poppy Photos by Stacy Thiot | Los Angeles Maternity Photographer

While editing these photos I couldn’t stop thinking about how pregnancy and birth is a such a miracle! I know I’ve said this before, but I love everything about it. (I can say that… I haven’t been pregnant) :) The birthing process just intrigues me. When I was in high school, I worked in the Labor + Delivery unit and I absolutely loved it.

With all that being said, Katt’s birth was no exception. It was a dream (for me and for her, I believe). I took the picture of the clock below just before the doctor arrived. From the doctor’s arrival, to the point when Leo came out, it was just under 15 minutes (5 minutes before midnight). She had one contraction once the doctor was set up. Pushed a couple times. And he was out! Dream. My dream. (I definitely have unrealistic expectations for my births now, thanks a lot, Katt). Justin and I looked at each other like, ‘did that really just happen that fast?’ And oh what a beautiful baby! Complete perfection!

Thank you Katt and Justin for allowing me to photograph such an intimate, private and special moment!

These are awesome– gave me the chills:) I can’t believe you made it look like it’s natural lighting and you got the perfect angle on the pushing shot. She’s lucky to have pushed out the baby that quickly and lucky to have these photos!
